WHERE CAN I USE IT
Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain can be applied to bare or previously stained wood, and is ideal for doors, window frames, cladding, garden furniture and all smooth planed timber.
WHAT SORT OF FINISH
Available in both gloss and satin finishes in the colour of your choice Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain adds a beautiful finish to the wood whilst allowing the natural grain to show through.
HOW MANY COATS
2 are normally enough but untreated wood may need 3.
COVERAGE
The 3 litre tin will normally provide enough to coat 16-20 square metres of wood per coat. Weathered wood may require more. Coverage varies with the absorbency of the wood.
DRYING TIMES
Touch dry in 30 minutes and can be re-coated in 4 hours.
APPLICATION
Start by ensuring the wood is clean and dry. Lightly sand to remove any loose wood fibres and wipe off any dirt, dust and grease with white spirit. Previously stained or weathered wood should be sanded, then washed with white spirit and allowed to dry. Other finishes such as varnish or paint must be completely removed before application. For the best possible finish use a good quality brush designed for the application of water-based finishes.Stir well before and during use. Apply even coats brushing in the direction of the wood grain. In warm and dry conditions, for best results dilute the first coat with up to 25% water. Do not apply in direct sunlight.
CLEAN UP AND MAINTENANCE
Remove as much product from brush as possible before cleaning with water and detergent. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilities for disposing of waste coatings. Once applied, Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain can easily be maintained by applying one further coat every three years. On certain softwoods and horizontal or very exposed surfaces more frequent treatment may be necessary.
